Workshop of COP21 RIPPLES WP3/4 and INNOPATHS projects

11 February 2019 to 12 February 2019
London
COP21 RIPPLES and INNOPATHS held a joint workshop on 11th February in London. Both two projects are funded by the EU Horizon 2020 programme and have significant areas of complementarity concerning the representation of rates of change and learning in energy and related emitting systems in the modelling of climate change scenarios.
This small workshop brought together the core expertise across these two consortia, with a small number of invited external participants. Some of issues discussed by both projects were:
- Evidence of historical learning and transition rates drawn by both projects
- Information from experts
- Results obtained up to date by COP21 RIPPLES and INNOPATHS on modelling, including their comparability and discussion against the background of historical evidence.
On 12th February, COP21 RIPPLES partners involved in WP3 and WP4 met by separate. Topics discussed included the key parameters and assumptions underlying the 1.5° C scenarios, cooperative approaches, distributional impacts, outcomes on energy security and inputs towards the upcoming COP21 RIPPLES Policy Dialogues and EU policy instruments.
